Also visit the town of Ston, known for its long stone defence walls and salt marshes. Delicacies such as oysters and mussels are farmed off the bay of Mali Ston, which you can sample in the local restaurants. As the peninsula is located halfway between the interesting cities of Split and Dubrovnik, you have the opportunity to go on interesting day trips there. One of the most beautiful and largest pebble beaches on the peninsula awaits you in Zuljani, where you can swim in the clear sea and relax on the beach under shady olive trees.
