Just 35 minutes away, you can spend a day in Baka, a holiday resort known for its old town, churches and beaches such as the centre of Vela Plaa. Near Baka is the Church of St Lucia in Jurandvor, a Romanesque Catholic church dating back to 1100, where you can see two important medieval Croatian artefacts: the Baka tablet and a chessboard carving on the bell tower.
