A 20-minute drive away is Sarlat, the capital of the Périgord Noir, one of the most beautiful towns in France with 66 listed monuments, one of the finest medieval complexes in Europe. Discover its winding streets, vaulted passages and magnificent houses. Sainte Marie Church has a covered food market and a panoramic elevator in the bell tower offers views of the city. At the market you will find the local products for which this terroir is famous, such as foie gras and cheese. 8 km from your vacation rental, the Jardins de Marqueyssac offer a 19th century chateau, more than 6 km of shaded walks adorned with belvederes, rock gardens, waterfalls and green theaters for an unforgettable romantic stroll. Note that you have to climb about 30 steps to get to the living rooms, and a narrow staircase leads to the bedroom with double bed on the second floor.
