The Rappenhof riding stables are also within walking distance, where horse fans, especially Icelandic horses, can get their money's worth. Water sports enthusiasts, e.g. water skiing, will find good conditions at Twistesee, Diemelsee or Edersee. Those interested in culture will find what they are looking for in the museum city of Kassel, approx. 30 km away, or in Bad Wilhelmshöhe in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe. You should also definitely plan a visit to the former Hanseatic town of Warburg, just 11 kilometres away, which impresses with its largely preserved town wall, its fortified towers and its medieval townscape. The residential town of Bad Arolsen is around 20 minutes away. Princess Emma zu Waldeck und Pyrmont, who later became Queen of the Netherlands, was born here.
