A path leads past the cottage to a parking area; from there you can follow the miles of hiking trails through untouched, wildlife-rich nature and possibly see an elk, deer, roe deer or capercaillie crossing the path. You can also join guided tours by 6-wheeler in summer and snowmobile in winter. The cottage offers a view of the mountain Straumsfjellet, which is popular among mountaineers thanks to the Via Ferrata. In winter time you can reach Brokke Alpinsenter with downhill slopes and ski lifts after only 20 minutes by car.
