Als is known for its mild climate and as a peaceful oasis of Denmark. You're not far from Sønderborg here, where you can enjoy a café and a stroll around the harbor. On the nearby Kegnæs peninsula, there are also excellent swimming beaches that you can quickly drive to. The fishing grounds offer salmon, cod, horn fish and plaice. Visit the old mills in the area and also the old Augustenborg Castle with a castle park worth seeing.
