The rich surrounding nature will make you feel as if you are in the middle of the green mountains, while here you are only twenty minutes drive from the beautiful beaches of Umag. Buje is located in the north of Istria, 10 kilometers inland from the Adriatic Sea. Due to its prominent position on the top of the hill, it is visible from far away. From here the view of the whole area opens up. Olive groves and vineyards spread all around the terraces. In spring you will have the opportunity to pick your own wild asparagus. If you prepare it with eggs, it becomes the traditional Istrian dish Fritaja. If you are tired of international cuisine, we recommend you to visit an 'agrotourism'. Here you will be offered only local food - in such establishments only products from their own production are allowed to be served. Only a few years ago, only a few hardy adventurers exchanged the blue waves of the sea for the green hills of the hinterland.
